How to Care for Your Dried Flowers?

Dried flowers are long-lasting and only require minimum care. Here are some tips to help you maintain their beautify for as long as possible.


Tip #1: Avoid direct Sunlight

Dried flowers will naturally discolour over months. Direct sunlight will speed up the discolouration process and make their vibrant colour fade away much more quickly. So, put your dried flowers away from direct sunlight can help prolong its natural beauty.


Tip #2: Avoid humidity

Keep your dried flowers in a cool and dry condition, away more moisture. So don't put them in or near the bathroom or the kitchen. Moisture will make the flowers go mouldy and become a breeding ground for moths and other insects.

Tip #3: Handle with care

Dried flowers are very fragile and brittle, prone to shedding and breakage. So it's always best to handle them gently and carefully to minimise damage to the petals and leaves. Less touching is always good.


Tip #4: Put them in a low traffic area

Keep the dried flowers in a low traffic are, out of reach of children and away from pets. This will help eliminate accidental damage to the fragile petals and leaves.


Tip #5: Occasional inspection

Check your flowers once in a while for traces of insects. Some dried flowers, such as billy buttons and paper daisies, are prone to attract moths, as they are the prefect breeding ground for the little unwanted guests.


Tip #6: A gentle blow dry

Gently blow dry your dried flowers using the low heat setting on your hair dyer, if you find them really dusty or droopy. Keep the hair dryer at least 30-50cm away from the flowers to prevent accidental damage to the delicate petals.
